Kookaburra in my back garden
My back yard garden spans the full length of the back fence and is 5m deep on the right
Lilley Pilley
Banksia
Wattle
Cat's Whiskers
Whereas the Kookaburras, Noisy Miners, Lorikeets, Butcher Birds and Crows are a regular occurrence around the backyard, we have had the company of a pair of Pied Currawong Strepera graculina in recent weeks. It's always exciting to see new arrivals!!

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful backyard!
ReplyDeleteHi there - I must admit that Australian gardens do have a bit character!
ReplyDeleteCheers - Stewart M - Australia
I'm enjoying reading Australian blogs this time of year-your flowers and birds are quite the contrast to the gray skies and landscapes in my part of the the US.
ReplyDeleteHi Leanne,
ReplyDeleteThe banksia flower looks great.
It will be gorgeous when in full bloom.
Nice work on the blog too.
Cheers Tim
Good luck with your native garden. They are certainly the easiest to take care of especially when you are away exploring Australia as I see you do. I recognise many of your photos as being similar to mine especially the Carnarvon Gorge. We have similar interests. Unfortunately my 20 year old native garden is starting to look old and tired but I am getting too old and tired to renovate it. I had a lovely grevillea tree fall over in the last storm. It is hard to replant one tree amongst other mature trees as they don't get enough light/sun to grow. I think I might replace it with a Lilly pilly as they don't mind shade or sun.
ReplyDeleteHi Leanne, many thanks for visiting my blog and giving me the opportunity to visit yours. I do like your floral captures - pretty! Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteSweet! Your birds are so exotic and beautiful. I can't imagine seeing them in my backyard...must be wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHi Leanne! I like your blog so much I've nominated it for a "Liebster Award", more details on my blog: Liebster Award
